Announcing the launch of our brand new Botox and Buddies Private Happy Hour events at TLJ Aesthetics! For years, our patients have asked about the possibility of a TLJ Botox party. We admit to initially giggling a little about the concept but now we’ve put our heads together to create fun yet professional events for you and your friends!
At TLJ we never want you to feel like you’re just another patient, you’re part of our community.
With this new event, we thought it would be a great idea to discuss the basics and, let’s face it, not so basics of Botox and talk about why we love this treatment. While Botox is a household name, we are certain there is a lot our guests will learn about how we use this fantastic tool.
To register, simply bring at least one new friend to the event (or as many as you’d like up to 10). We will close registration of each event once we are at capacity as a small and intimate atmosphere is our desire. Want to keep this event ultra private and bring all 10 newbies?? No problem! We’ve got you covered. Otherwise, our community of existing patients will bring new friends to come, learn and enjoy together.
We will post dates of each event on our website. Otherwise, simply text us for an updated list on available dates anytime!
Maybe you’re wondering why you might want to opt for a private happy hour over your typical Botox appointment. Here’s why!
We’re big believers in fun and positive vibes here at TLJ, so you know we’re going to have a good time at our Botox and Buddies Private Happy Hour!
These events will not include representatives from our vendors in the aesthetic industry. Rather, we have put together some great education for you and friends about our favorite treatments, not limited to Botox.
Whether you are bringing enough friends to close registration for an event or bringing one or two new friends to TLJ, it’s a great time to socialize, enjoy one another’s company, share ideas and, for those interested, also receive a Botox treatment at the event.
At TLJ, injectables are provided by our trained professionals, MDs and PAs. Our licensed medical staff will perform your injections, so you can trust that your injections will be safe and effective. Dr. Jacobson alone has over 20 years of experience injecting Botox Cosmetic.
While our private events are not “Botox parties” in the traditional sense, we are able to provide treatments in a relaxed but professional setting. Those interested in treatment at the event, a focused private consultation will be provided and treatment done in the privacy of a treatment room, never in front of the group of attendees present.
Botox is a great first time treatment if you’re new to the realm of aesthetic care, and a Botox party is a great time to learn and ask any questions you may have about other cosmetic options.
You should prepare for a Botox party the way you would for your typical Botox appointment. Feel free to show up in your relaxed, casual party wear. We’ll cleanse and prep your skin before we perform the injections, as always.
Another great way to prepare is to learn more about Botox and how it works! So it’s great that you’re already reading this blog. If you have questions you can always reach out to us, too!
Botox was originally developed to treat overactive muscles. During those first studies the doctor’s noticed that it had the added benefit of smoothing wrinkles. After that, Botox became the first neuromodulator (or neurotoxin) to be FDA approved for the treatment of wrinkles on the face.
Since then, Botox has been discovered to have many other benefits, including reducing excessive perspiration in the under arms and decreasing oil production in acne prone areas like the forehead.
As a neuromodulator, Botox is injected into the skin in order to relax the muscles that cause wrinkles. It’s a very quick and effective treatment, usually completed in less than 5 minutes
Common treatment areas (and we can’t wait to share many others too!)
The best part about Botox is how quickly results appear. You’ll be able to see the effects of your injections in just a few days! There is also no recovery time, you can get right back to enjoying your day.
The results from Botox are temporary, though they do last awhile. Your body metabolizes the Botox as it would any substance. How long your Botox results last will depend on your body’s unique chemistry. Most patients are able to enjoy their results for 3 to 4 months before visiting us for a maintenance treatment.
It’s important to visit as soon as you see your wrinkles start to return, that way your Botox injections will prevent them from getting worse.
You can choose to discontinue receiving Botox injections at any time with no additional side effects other than the continued signs of aging. So, in theory, you could give Botox a try and decide it’s not for you. After discussing with your provider, you might opt to use a different neurotoxin instead!
Since Botox has been around there have been other neuromodulators introduced to the market. Dysport, Jeuveau, and Xeomin are other popular options that we do offer at TLJ Aesthetics.
While it’s made from the same botulinum toxin as Botox, Dysport is primarily used for the glabellar lines (between the brows).
Sometimes called “Newtox,” Jeuveau is the newest neuromodulator created from the botulinum toxin. It’s also mainly used to alleviate frown lines between the eyebrows.
Xeomin is called the “naked” neurotoxin because it doesn’t contain the added proteins that the others do.
Each of these neurotoxins can be an effective part of your treatment plan, depending on your specific goals.
Like many of our aesthetic options, Botox can be combined with other procedures as part of your overall treatment plan. While these combinations obviously won’t be happening at our Botox and Buddies event, we’re always happy to discuss this as part of your consultation.
Combining Botox and dermal fillers is a really popular process for many of our patients. Soft tissue fillers are another injectable product but they are designed to refine the shape of the face by providing additional volume. When Botox and fillers are used together to synergistically provide a natural, rested and more youthful appearance.
Getting a regular hydrafacial is great for your overall skin health and can help enhance all of the aesthetic treatments we provide, Botox included.
Because Kybella and Botox are two entirely different injectable treatments, you can enjoy the benefits of both! Kybella removes the fat in your submental area and gets rid of a double chin and gives you a sleeker, younger jawline.
While Botox can address wrinkles, it can’t help with other surface level skin issues like age spots or uneven skin tone. Laser skin resurfacing with HALO or a BBL photofacial can help correct skin tone issues that Botox doesn’t address.
These treatments may or may not be able to be completed on the same treatment day and are customized to the needs of each individual patient.
When we think of Botox we typically think about it as a wrinkle treatment, after all that was its original cosmetic use. Over the years, however, Botox has been revealed to have several other benefits.
Botox can be used to relax the muscles of the lower face to relieve jaw clenching, teeth grinding, TMJ and headaches.
We’re all a little guilty of looking at our screens a little too often and stressing the muscles of our neck and shoulders. When injected into the upper neck, we can use neuromodulators to relax the “platysmal bands” that form and stiffness that come withs “tech neck.”
When the corners of your mouth are tense it can look like you’ve got a perpetual frown. Botox injections can provide a more natural resting face.
The most common areas affected by excessive sweating are the under arms, hands, and scalp. Strategically placed neurotoxin injections can block the nerve signals that cause sweating to alleviate the excess.
At TLJ Aesthetics MD we’re committed to our patients and we’re committed to a good time. Cosmetic care is about looking and feeling your best, so it should be an enjoyable experience.
Over the years, Dr. Jacobson has had the privilege of training personally under the very cosmetic physicians that developed these aesthetic treatments and who wrote the protocols that are now standard medical excellence at TLJ.
Our patients can always trust their safety and comfort are our top priority, even when we’re having a “party.”
