It’s that time of year. Soon the leaves will start changing and the weather will begin to cool. We’re all going to be spending more time indoors as summer activities wind down.
Summer is a time of increased sun exposure and without protection, skin damage from the sun can build up. Perhaps you’re looking in the mirror and wondering if it’s possible to reverse sun damage and restore healthy skin cells?
At TLJ Aesthetics, we know that a laser skin treatment can be a great answer to a lot of skin concerns like fine lines and wrinkles, brown hyperpigmentation, uneven brown or red pigment and unwanted visible veins and capillaries.
We love how lasers can provide deep healing beyond what topical products are capable of, and the ways lasers partner with your skin’s natural processes to rejuvenate and restore your skin’s youthful health and glow.
Our team understands the connection between looking good and feeling good. The skin is the body’s largest organ and is a very visible part of how people see us. Laser skin treatments can be an effective addition to your regular skin care routine, but they do need to be planned for.
Decreased sun exposure is the main reason fall is the best season for laser treatments. You can technically schedule your laser treatment for any time of year, but it’s best in the cooler months and when you can avoid sun exposure for the most part
Oftentimes, it will take a few sessions with a laser to achieve optimal results. Whether you are starting a fresh new treatment series or simply updating your results with maintenance treatments prior to and around the holidays, this is definitely the ideal time and season!
Laser skin treatments are a household topic these days. But while they are becoming increasingly popular, they are still medical procedures that need to be treated with care and handled by a professional.
The technology that will be used is an extremely important thing to consider as well. All laser and energy based devices are not created equal and provide very different results. At TLJ, we only utilize the top quality and most advanced devices. We want to ensure your skin is treated safely and your outcome is the very best possible.
Like with all medical care, you want someone who is experienced and trained in providing laser procedures, with proven results. Look for medical laser providers with extensive training. At TLJ, we are also committed to ongoing continuing training and education, collaborating with the best minds in laser aesthetics around.
During your consultation, your provider should also ask about your medical history and have an in depth conversation with you about your expectations and desires for your skin.
TLJ Aesthetics offers several energy-based and laser devices to treat a variety of skin conditions. Our virtual consultation tool is a great way to get personalized recommendations based on your self-identified areas of concern.
We offer laser skin treatments in Issaquah for the following conditions:
There are two types of laser treatments: ablative and non-ablative. Ablative lasers remove the outer layer of skin, which helps with things like scars and pigment issues. Recovery time of a few days (rather than true down time) is a consideration when scheduling. Best not to schedule an ablative treatment right before an important meeting or event. Avoiding sun exposure soon after this kind of treatment is essential.
Non-ablative lasers heat pigmented areas in the epidermis and dermis as well as cells in the dermal layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production without harming your skin’s surface. After your non-ablative laser skin treatment, you should still avoid sun exposure.
We can treat almost any area on the body, depending on the laser device. Your TLJ provider will discuss which treatments will work best for you!
Every aesthetic treatment plan at TLJ begins with scheduling a consultation where we take the time to get to know you and your individual goals. Our consultation process ensures that every treatment plan at TLJ Aesthetics is curated for the individual patient.
We make recommendations and explain each procedure in detail and discuss any follow up treatments sessions that may be necessary.
Most of our laser treatments are completed in under an hour and have no downtime. Ablative laser treatments may have a longer recovery period. Dr. Jacobson has over 20 years of experience in laser and light techniques for the skin.
At TLJ MD, we do everything to ensure speed and comfort during your treatment process.
You’ll be able to enjoy the results from your laser treatment for many months. For optimal results, some treatments should be supplemented with maintenance treatments, which your provider will discuss with you during your consultation.
As a non-ablative laser, ClearSilk is great for treating wrinkles, lesions, and redness. The treatment time is only 30 minutes and there is no downtime.
Some patients may require multiple treatments depending on the amount of change you would like to see in your skin. ClearSilk is often used in combination with BBL treatments to enhance overall results.
Your TLJ MD provider will work with you to determine the best treatment plan for your goals!
Sagging and laxity of the skin is the one of the most common complaints we hear from our clients. Skintyte BBL is great for treating those issues around the face and neck, and patients get the added benefit of the photo-rejuvenation of broadband light (BBL).
Using different wavelengths, BBL Hero treats a wide range of skin issues. Compared to other BBL treatments, it is fast and more powerful, allowing a quicker full body treatment in as little as 15 minutes.
As the first ever hybrid of both an ablative and non-ablative laser, Halo is designed to provide optimal aesthetic results without the same downtime as surgery or traditional laser ablation. Patients see improvements in skin texture, tone, and tightness, often called the “Halo Glow.”
Laser treatments work best for patients who are already following a consistent, quality skincare routine, but they can also be a great starting point.
As with most medical treatments, you should avoid smoking before and after your treatment because it can affect the healing process and extend recovery time.
Inform your provider of any medical conditions you have, medications you’re currently taking or skin products you are using. Certain anti-inflammatory drugs and topical products can increase the risk of complications with lasers.
Tell your provider if you have any cosmetic or decorative tattoos in the area to be treated, have had microblading of the brows or have implantable devices of any kind (such as insulin pump or pacemaker).
These are some general guidelines. Every patient is different, and it’s possible during your consultation that your TLJ provider will recommend preparation more specific to you.
Studies show that HydraFacial is not only an outstanding stand alone treatment to improve skin health and appearance, but actually improves the outcome when combined with other treatments like lasers. And it makes sense, right!?

Following (or developing) a regular skincare routine is a great way to maintain the results from your treatments. Great skin isn’t just about your genetics—it’s about healthy habits.
